Cookie Policy

1. Preliminary remarks

FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST and its associates ("FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST", "we" or "us") extremely appreciate your visit to this website/app and your interest in our services. The protection of your data is very important to us and we want you to be able to use our website, applications and services without reservation. FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST takes great care to treat your personal data responsibly in accordance with legal requirements.

This page tells you how we may set and read cookies, similar technologies and device identifiers (collectively, "cookies") when you use our websites, applications and services (such as advertising, products, services, brands, platforms, technologies) or when you visit a website, application or service that uses our services. More information about how we process your data can be found in our Privacy Policy.

2. What are cookies, similar technologies and device identifiers?

Cookies are text files that are stored on your electronic device when you visit a website or application or use our services.

Similar technologies mainly involve techniques to recognise users of the website, app or services (or you) so that we can make our products more interesting to you. Device identifiers may be randomly generated or collected from existing system information (such as IP address, browser version, operating system and version, device type and settings, mobile device and advertising identifiers such as Advertising ID (Apple), Vendor ID (Apple), Android ID (Google), Play Store Ad ID (Google), ISDN wireless service subscriber numbers, Wireless UIDH, public telephone data, mobile network data and software data.

In general, cookies, similar technologies, and device identifiers may be used to make use of FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST websites, applications and services or third-party providers more convenient and effective. This includes applying user preferences, providing a personalised environment (such as personalised content and advertising) and linking users, devices and accounts to each other. Some of these cookies remain on your device only until you leave the site, app or service, while others retain your settings and preferences once you move from one site, app or service to another.

3. What types of cookies do we use and what are their characteristics?

To ensure the usability, interactivity, relevance and security of our websites/applications, we use various cookies and similar technologies, and we distinguish between two types of cookies:

— Persistent cookies remain on your device for a period of time specified in the cookie. They are activated each time you visit the website or application that created the cookie.

— Session cookies are temporary cookies. They allow website operators to associate your actions with a browser session. A browser session starts when you open your browser window and ends when you close it. Once you close your browser, all session cookies are deleted.

Cookies have different functions. We use the following types of cookies:

3.1 Functional cookies

These are strictly necessary ('functional') cookies which are required to enable the essential functionality of our websites and applications. Without them, you will not be able to use our websites and applications for their intended purpose. The main feature of a functional cookie is that it makes it easier for you to access the content of the website and applications. They can also help ensure that data transmission is handled in a more secure manner. Finally, functional cookies are used to save your decision to use cookies on our websites and applications. We also use these cookies to save your location and language preferences.

Your consent to the use of functional cookies is not required as they are absolutely essential for the operation of the website and application. You cannot disable these cookies, but you can set your browser to block or alert you to them - however, some parts of websites and apps may stop working.

3.2 Advertising/targeting cookies

Advertising/targeting cookies are used to identify you (for example, on the basis of your IP address and geographical location) and to measure your use of the website or application. On this basis, we will offer you relevant products and services and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. These cookies may be set by us or third parties with the consent of the website operator. Third party suppliers may use targeted cookies to assess your interests and show you relevant offers and services on other websites and applications for which FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST is not responsible. They work by identifying your browser and device outside the FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST website or application. These cookies may, for example, remember that you have visited a website or app and this information may be shared with third parties, including other advertisers. We also advertise our products, services and events on FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST's social media profiles. We use advertising/targeting cookies to support this process. These enable social media operators (e.g. Facebook) to recognise independent users or specific target groups on their platforms and send them offers on our behalf. You can opt out of this by changing your preferences in the cookie settings and not selecting this type of cookie. These cookies may be managed for us by third party providers. If possible, we contractually require these providers to comply with applicable privacy and data protection regulations and not to use the data received for their own purposes.

3.3 Analytical / statistical cookies

Analytical/statistical cookies enable us to count visits and identify the source of visits, so that we can learn more about and improve the performance of our website and application. They help us know which pages are the most popular, how visitors move around the site and application and whether they receive error messages on a particular page. Analytics/statistics cookies also allow us to use certain third-party products and services to play videos or provide feedback about our services. We set these cookies in such a way that we do not store personally identifiable information about you (see point 4). Wherever possible, we contractually require third parties to comply with applicable data privacy and protection regulations and not to use the data they collect for their own purposes. For more information, see each provider's privacy policy. FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST uses the information collected in an aggregated and therefore anonymous form.

3.4 Performance and tracking cookies

Tracking and performance cookies are stored in a browser and may record data about the user of that browser. This may include website/application activity, browsing activity, purchases and preferences, IP addresses, geographic location, etc. We use these cookies to track your activities and user sessions. This means that we can offer you the best online experience and a personalised service. These cookies may be managed for us by third party providers. We contractually require these providers to comply with applicable privacy and data protection regulations and not to use the data received for their own purposes.

4. Are cookies used by third parties and partners?

We sometimes use third-party plug-ins and components on our websites and applications to improve the user experience and, in particular, our online advertising campaigns. These components may use cookies for similar purposes. Neither third parties nor FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST have access to the data collected by other parties through cookies. We also use cookies to show FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST advertisements when you visit websites of third parties with whom we have a marketing relationship. In some circumstances, these third parties collect and provide us with anonymised information about your use of our and other websites, including but not limited to geographical information, your browsing behaviour or the names of the websites that serve ads to you. FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST uses this information to display more relevant and useful advertisements, and thus to increase the effectiveness of our advertising. Generally, the information for this is collected using cookies and sent to a third party server (such as Google Analytics (a service network from Google Ireland Limited) or Siteimprove (a website optimization service from Siteimprove A/S) and is not linked to your personal information. Depending on the provider, these servers may be located in countries other than Switzerland. The main function of these systems is to collect the following types of anonymised data:

— The host name of the client or the hidden IP address of the access device

— The URL (web address) to which visitors are redirected from or to the FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST websites or applications

— time of visit

— Browser type and version

— The make or operating system of the device

— Other device-specific information such as screen size.

The designated companies are responsible for processing personal data as described below. They decide, at their own discretion, on the purposes and means of data transmission and its use on their own servers. The purposes and means for which data is collected and how companies process and use the data transmitted are governed by their own data protection guidelines. There you can find even more information about your rights and the possibilities for protecting your privacy. Please also note our terms of service for social media.

4.1 Facebook

We use the analytics services of Facebook Inc ("Facebook") to measure usage of our website and to obtain information to improve our services. We use plug-ins on our website to communicate with the Facebook website, using cookies to collect information such as the number of people or demographic information about users. We use data collected from Facebook, aggregated or otherwise anonymised, to improve our content and services; only Facebook can link data to a person. Facebook Ireland Limited is therefore responsible for the collection and processing of the personal data just described. At its own discretion, Facebook decides on the purposes and means of data transmission and its use on its own servers. The purposes and methods for collecting data as well as the processing and use of the data transmitted by Facebook are governed by the Facebook Data Protection Guidelines. There you can find even more information about your rights and the protection of your privacy. You also have the opportunity to opt out of such processing of your personal data at any time.

4.2 Google

We use the advertising and analytical services of Google LLC ("Google") to evaluate the use of our website and to obtain information to improve our services. We use cookies to measure information such as the number of people or user demographics. We use data collected from Google, aggregated or otherwise anonymised, to improve our content and services. That said, only Google can link data to a person. We use Google's advertising technology lawfully, based on our legitimate interest in targeting our services to potential customers through marketing. You also have the option to opt out of such processing of your personal data at any time. We also use IP anonymisation. In doing so, your IP address in Switzerland, the EU or the European Economic Area (EEA) is shortened and your full IP address is only transmitted to Google in exceptional cases.

4.3 Instagram

Our website may use technology from Instagram Inc, ("Instagram"). We use integrated Insta-gram buttons to link to our Instagram profile. A widget is also integrated. This allows us to display certain photos and videos from our Instagram profile on our website. When you visit a website containing these technologies, your browser connects directly to the Instagram server. With these technologies, data is transmitted directly to your browser and integrated into the website. This data is automatically sent to Instagram and stored on its servers. This includes the transmission of data about your connection (e.g. your IP address, date and time, website addresses, also called URL) as well as information about your browser and operating system. This allows Instagram to track your visit to our website, even if you are not actively using these features.

5. How can you change your cookie preferences?

On the FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST websites and applications, you can personalise your cookie settings at any time to adapt them to your preferences. You can later deactivate cookies. This will revoke your consent and the data processed in this way will be valid for the future. To do this, click on this link: Change cookie settings.

If you save your settings, these will remain in effect for future visits to FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST websites or applications. However, for technical reasons beyond our control, this cannot be guaranteed. If, for example, you restart your browser, delete cookies or access the FINANCE AND INDUSTRIAL TRUST websites or applications using a different browser or device, your cookie preferences may be lost. In some countries, to comply with applicable laws and regulations, you may be asked to confirm your cookie preferences the first time you visit our websites and applications. If you are in a country that automatically requires you to define your cookie preferences you may well be asked to do so again on your next visit.

You can also use your browser settings to restrict the use of cookies by our websites and applications. Depending on your browser you may be warned before accepting cookies or you may choose to reject cookies as your default setting.
